Biographical sketch
Johan Svartberg became MD in 1987 at Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden and after specialization at Söder Hospital and Karolinska Hospital specialist in Internal Medicine 1995 and Endocrinology 1996. He moved to Tromsø, Norway in 1997 and defended his Thesis at the University of Tromsø in 2004. He is currently Head at the Section of Endocrinology, University Hospital of North Norway. He was president of the Norwegian Endocrine Society 2003-2005. He has written a number of papers in the field of endocrinology, but focusing on testosterone levels in men participating in the Tromsø study.

- At the present I’m continuing my research in the field of male sex hormones, but I’m also taking part in different projects in the fields of endocrinology and diabetes.
